  • The Bootcamp in Luxembourg on key acceleration issues takes place before and after the ICT Spring event and offers the following program:

Jean-Michel Ludwig is the Director of Business Development at Luxinnovation, the Luxembourg agency for innovation and research. He has been previously the Director of Startup and SME Performance (2015-2018). Before joining Luxinnovation in 2002, Jean-Michel gathered his first professional experience (4 years) as project officer in a German consultancy company involved in European R&D project management.
Besides his dedication to Luxinnovation, Jean-Michel has been delivering various classes at the University of Strasbourg and at the ICN Business School on International Project Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Enjoys deep diving crypto and blockchain projects, from a technical as well as the crypto economics and business angle. Passionate about the latest solutions and advancements in the blockchain ecosystem, he explores and researches Quantum Computing and AI and the compounding impact those technologies will have together on the economy and society. Advising start-ups and participates as panel member in various pitching events. He organizes hackathons and presents at large events. Participating in various working and interest groups.  With extensive cyber-security engineering as well as traditional finance background and hands-on experience through production implementations, prototyping, PoCs and design sprints. Advising senior management on FinTech and corporate innovation at the European Investment Bank. ​

Gender Complementarity at Work through her social enterprise Equilibre.
Larissa started her first company at the age of 18, then grew and exited the family business, a RegTech company in the Intellectual Property domain, before co-founding three social enterprises.  With her MBA and Masters in Finance, she has become a proverbial ‘Jane-of-all-trades’, lecturing at Universities on the topics of Family Business, Gender in Entrepreneurship, Diversity Management and local incubators. She is also on the European speaker circuit on subject related to gender, impact investing, entrepreneurship and family business.

Jerome Wittamer has been active both as an investor and as an entrepreneur in the technology, telecom and Internet spaces for 25 years. His latest investments include revolutionary big data company Spire Global (space constellation that will save lives, crops and billions in GDP), uber ambitious Glose who wants 2 billion kids to learn more (EdTech) and Catalyte, a software development company using predictive analytics to advance human potential in poor neighbourhoods. Jerome likes genius founders embracing highly complex problems to make a positive impact on the world. These crazy people rarely have any competition and end up building highly valuable companies.

Jerome honed his skills in the early 90’s backing the pioneer of flash memory M-Systems (sold to SanDisk) and cyber security company Aladdin Knowledge Systems. At the beginning of the century he led successful investments in media and communication technology companies such as EVS (IPO), Option (IPO) and Evertz (IPO), all of which became a world leader in their field. During that period, he contributed to the foundation, launch and operations of VOXmobile, a mobile operator (sold to Orange).

What keeps him awake at night is finding those unique founders with the combination of intellect, unparalleled insights, grit and courage with the strong conviction that these need to be applied to solving problems that matter for the greater good of mankind.

Daniela Cedola is a Director within PwC Advisory. She is specialised in business and export acceleration programmes for PwC’s Accelerator and is currently Programme Director for the Coaching Network role of PwC on the EU Gateway | Business Avenues programmes for Asian markets. For the past years, she has specialised in providing consulting assistance to CEOs of fast-growing innovative companies on diverse challenges such as internationalisation, strategy, market entry, business plan and business model definition. Daniela has worked for different industries and sectors, including High Technology, Public Sector, Higher Education and Energy, working on several projects related to international trade, innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship, support to growth SMEs including internationalisation, performance assessment, competitiveness, market research as well as policy analysis. Prior to joining PwC, Daniela worked as a Senior Strategy Consultant for Accenture in London with a focus on the energy industry. Her projects involved green energy solutions, pricing, market analysis, strategy development and market positioning.

Catherine Frideres is an entrepreneur, business coach and communications specialist with 20 years combined experience in cross-cultural communications, business acceleration coaching and in managing international projects. She is Senior Manager for PwC Advisory – Public Sector. She is responsible for promotion, communications, branding and marketing for PwC’s Accelerator. Her expertise in designing narratives and building active communities through digital and social media platforms has extended public awareness of the EU Gateway | Business Avenues programme to over 2 million European SMEs in the 28 EU Member States. Catherine leads acceleration coaching for over 2,500 SMEs into the Asian markets across 9 industry sectors for the EU Gateway | Business Avenues programme. She has designed custom training workshops enabling SMEs to gain access to clients, markets, finance and talent. Catherine has worked in both private and public sectors, engaging stakeholders across different sectors and cultures. She is trained in international relations and diplomacy, negotiation, international business development and project management and has over 12 years experience in managing public-private partnership programmes and mechanisms to promote international trade and policy dialogues through her work for the Philippine Department of Education, Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), ASEAN Regional Forum & the European Union. She founded a start-up translation and localisation company in London, contributed equity capital towards its expansion and cultivated a client portfolio in legal, financial services and pharmaceuticals to include the top 50 law firms in the UK and the largest pharmaceutical research companies in Europe and the US. In under 4 years, she expanded firm’s activities into continental Europe and China and established the first Wholly Foreign Owned (WFOE) translation company in Shanghai.

He left business consulting at Accenture to follow his entrepreneurial spirit and firm belief in the value of social media intelligence for businesses. From years of meeting with clients and developing Talkwalker, Christophe has become a cross-functional specialist in understanding the data and analytics requirements for clients’ business needs. Christophe holds an MSc degree in computer science and economics from the Munich University of Technology. During this time he created two tech startups and won an innovation and entrepreneurship competition.

Dr. Mathias Schmitt is the COO of the Digital Devotion Group, the ultimate Ecosystem for Cross-Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain in the greater region between Germany and Luxembourg. His focus is on business model innovation and company building for corporates and start-ups.

Before that, he worked as a Management Consultant for the Daimler AG in Stuttgart. With his team he was resposible for Business Engineering and Digital Transformation in production.

In the time before he was initiator and head of the SME 4.0-Competence Center in Kaiserslautern.

Start of his career was at the German Research Center for artificial intelligence. As a teamleader he was focused on Smart Automation and Integration in the Industry 4.0 production.

Prof. Dr. Matthias Baum holds the chair of entrepreneurship at the University of Kaiserslautern (Germany). Formerly, he was a post-doc at the University of Giessen and the executive manager of the “Entrepreneurship Cluster Mittelhessen” (ECM). Matthias Baum studied business administration in Paris (France) and Giessen (Germany), where he received his PhD in 2011.
His research mainly focuses on the intersection between entrepreneurship, internationalization and human resource management. Currently, Matthias Baum is particularly interested in the survival and learning of entrepreneurial firms in the international environment, growth and business strategies of international new ventures, recruitment strategies, (international) employer branding as well as recruitment in small and entrepreneurial firms. His scientific works have been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, International Business Review, International Marketing Review, Journal of Small Business Management & International Small Business Journal among others.
Matthias Baum is a member in several scientific associations (like the Interdisciplinary research unit of evidence-based management and entrepreneurship) and has acted as a consultant in multiple international companies.

Tatjana von Bonkewitz holds a Master’s degree in languages, an MBA as well as a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. Born in London, two German parents and a long-time resident in Luxembourg, she holds three passports and has been introduced to different cultures from very early on, living in several countries in Europe and working globally in various industries. Living and working in a multicultural environment, juggling six and a half languages and many cultures has become a second nature. She has led intercultural teams on the business and on the HR side.

She is passionate about culture, national and organisational and supports individuals and organizations in transition phases, cultural change and leadership. She is driven by her desire to make an impact and dedicates part of her time to social projects to facilitate and enhance intercultural communication.

Having been a foreigner for most of her life, she feels comfortable in the multicultural environment Luxembourg offers and handles the challenges and opportunities with a natural ease.

She is a mother of three wonderful children and spends her free time playing the piano and cello, reading, running and exploring new countries, cultures and languages.
